Heat pump incentives: check the installation year and program
Avoid carrying an expired tax credit into a current project, and verify utility eligibility before subtracting rebates.
Use the program rules for the year equipment is placed in service. As checked September 28, 2026, the IRS Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit page describes qualifying improvements through December 31, 2025. Do not apply a historical 25C credit to a new 2026 installation.
Utility and other programs have their own service areas, eligible equipment, customer requirements, timing and available funding. This hub does not determine eligibility or provide tax advice. Ask the program administrator for current written requirements before relying on an amount.
In Costs & savings, leave an incentive unknown or separate until you have a current source and eligibility review. Save the exact program link, checked date, proposed model and planned installation date. Recheck a decision when any of those facts changes.
